No hand-out motors in 2019 Group F, correct?

Postby aquavelvis » Thu Aug 08, 2019 2:00 pm

Just finished going through the USRA Group F motor rules and it says nothing about hand-out motors.

"Motors
1. Only the ProSlot 4002FK is allowed.
2. Springs and brushes may be changed. Springs must be of three--‐coil type from a USRA--‐approved manufacturer.
3. Motors must remain sealed
4. May solder can bushing and glue end bell busing if you wish."

So, this year it's bring your own motor(s), correct? Or is it mentioned where I haven't looked yet?

Thanks

Group f has always been a handout motor class. This year will be no different. Also, spec tires purchased from the raceway the day of the race.

No its not mentioned in the rules, but if you look at the race announcement on Slotblog, it does state handouts on day of race.
You have to remember that with the USRA the rules don't always matter and just because the rules do or don't say something doesn't mean they aren't going to make them up as it suits them.

Motors the day of the race. Tires any day that week as long as they are marked.

Group F wasn't a handout race in 2015, so "always" doesn't apply, but thought I'd check to be on the safe side. Thanks to all for getting back and clarifying.

So, new question: Are the handouts coming to the shop directly from ProSlot? Not sure why that would matter or even why I'm asking, but just curious...last year I believe that Roger brought them from his shop but that may not be correct.
