There was a pretty good turnout from Houston and San Antonio while only a couple of Austin-area racers were able to make it...we had eight in LMP and seven for Pro GTP. We skipped over purple and black to run yellow thru red at four minutes each, leaving us with extra racers for marshaling duties.
As usual, first up was LMP, and PA Watson TQ'ed, set fast lap time, and won the race, a very impressive showing for sure. San Antonio racer Kurt Val Delden took a fairly distant second while Austin racer Josh Cook was just two laps back from Kurt in third.
JT Teflos TQ'ed in Pro GTP and really stepped up during the race, setting fast lap. But PA was his usual fast, steady self, and ultimately took the win by just one lap over JT. Kurt finished third with a strong race as well.
Thanks as always to Tom Schaffer, owner of Capital City Raceway, for hosting us. The track as always was great. Thanks also to "I'm just a wing racer Barry" from Houston who made the trip but elected not to race, for stepping in and marshaling in Pro GTP.
Results and tech data:
JT Teflos's LMP concours-winning Orca:
Kurt Van Delden's Pro GTP concours winning O/S Bentley:
