  • January 2023 racing at Magnatech

Happy New Year, San Antonio area slot racers!

Here's the schedule for racing at Magnatech in January, 2023:

Jan. 7: Race 1, 3 PM: Breakout race Race 2, 4 PM: Heads-up Flexi LMP
    Jan. 14: Race 1, 3 PM: " " " " " " "
    Jan. 21: Race 1, 3 PM: " " " " " " "
    Jan. 28: Race 1, 3 PM: " " " " " " "

    IMPORTANT NOTES:

All race dates and times are ALWAYS subject to change:
    1) ...because Jim could schedule a birthday party or other potential business that would take precedence.

    2) If races must be rescheduled, we will make every effort to hold them same-day, likely later the same afternoon/evening

    3) For updates and changes, check the Magnatech board at Slotcars.net (Magnatech Raceway - Slot Cars Forum); either Jim or I will post notice of change as soon as a change is confirmed.

Race formulas could change, and your input is welcomed.
    1) The above schedule is for the same cars we've been running because everyone seems to have them.

    2) In the heads-up (non-breakout) races, want to race something besides Flexi LMP? Wing cars? Magnet cars? Womps? Scale Indy/F1 cars? Lobby Jim, not me.

    Rules:
    1) Breakout class:
    - Time: currently set at 6.5. Want to change it? Talk with Jim.
    - Cars: any 1/24 or Womp car with minimum .082" rear chassis/gear clearance and max 3.25" width with these exceptions: no wing bodies; no GTP bodies; no traction magnets. Otherwise, use your imagination. Have a question? Ask Jim.

    2) Flexi LMP:
    - 2022 South Texas Scale Series rules (2022 Car Building Specs - Slot Cars Forum)
    - Revised rules for 2023 will be posted ASAP...hopefully before February

    3) Some clearly illegal stuff...usually bodies...has been allowed thru tech in Flexi LMP, because the races are for fun with no prizes or points awarded. But:
    - please read the rules and make note of anything you bring to tech that might be illegal and that you can change.
    - Running a legal car here will help you get thru tech for racing in other races and in other cities where tech is much stickier.

See you at the track soon!
