To my knowledge, the Scale Series as we know it today was started around 2004 or 2005, maybe earlier, by John Myers, his wife Gwen, and another racer named Rhett McNair.
Therefore, it was very special and rewarding to me to walk into the race shop on Saturday and see John and Gwen at the races for the first time in years. John raced very well Saturday despite some rust and was poised for a good finish in Pro GTP before a motor issue sidelined him for a couple of heats late in the going.
And as happened a lot in the past, Gwen was dragooned into turn marshalling for a while.
John and Gwen, thanks to you both for helping get this series off the ground and being great people to spend a race day with.
