  • Magnatech Racing through August 12

Apologies for being so late with this but following is the racing schedule for Magnatech Raceway through August 12.

Of note is that we will start an eight-race Summer Points Series on June 24. Still to be determined is whether there will be drops or if we will add the total of all eight races. Let Jim know your preference. Also, there will be a mix of four different classes of cars in the points series (two races each):
    - Scale Series LMP
    - Scale Series GTP
    - Indy cars (heads-up, not breakout)
    - NASCAR/GTR (same rules as Scale Series LMP but with 4-inch NASCAR or GTR body...racer's choice)

So, here's the schedule. As always, everything is subject to change at any time, so check back here for changes and updates.
    - All are 6 PM starts, and

    - Blue = points series race
    June 17: Indy breakout, LMP
June 24: NASCAR (Indy chassis) breakout, GTP
    July 1: LMP, Indy
    July 8: GTP, LMP
    July 15: Indy breakout, NASCAR/GTR
July 22: NOTE CHANGES: 4:00 PM, GTP (points race);approx. 5:15 PM, LMP (heads-up, not breakout)
    July 29: LMP, Indy
    Aug 5: GTP, LMP
    Aug 12: Indy breakout, NASCAR/GTR

Guys were asking Saturday about rules for the summer points series. Here's what Jim and I came up with:
    - Points will be calculated same as for the South TX Scale Series
    - GTP and LMP: current South TX Scale Series rules
    - NASCAR/GTR: current South TX Scale Series LMP rules, but substitute NASCAR or GTR body (racer's choice) *
    - INDY: what we've been running, but no break-outs for the summer series

    * Everyone knows NASCAR bodies, so no example needed. The Flexi chassis will best accommodate a 4-inch body but if you want to run a bigger 4.5-incher, go ahead. GTR bodies are street-based cars, kind of like NASCAR, but more often seen in endurance racing and DTM-style racing in Europe. Some look a bit like an LMP, but the GTR bodies do not have side dams like the LMPs do. Check with Jim for what he has or can order.

There are a lot of nice GTR bodies. Here are a few examples.
