We had a pleasant surprise yesterday.
Tom Schaffer and some of his Capitol City racers came to race LMP and GTP on the Engleman.

Since P.A. Watson also showed up we had a couple of somewhat serious weekly fun races.
We ran 6-4 minute heats with sitouts so we would have marshals and the races were fast and competitive.

P.A. won both races with his usual steady no nonsense consistent driving, skillfully avoiding the out of towners (that were learning the track by finding where their cars fell out). 😎
Kurt was fast for second in both races and Scott took the last podium position in LMP but had issues in GTP...so he bailed and Butch took third.

Cliff didn't count in GTP because he was test running a brushless car I set up, a JK C43 with an EMAX RS1108 6000KV, Budge ESC, with an RTR Orca LMP.
It was the best handling and fastest car on the track but it lacked straightaway speed so Cliff was forced to do all his passing in the corners...leading to more wrecking with the new racers that hurt his lap total, (and he hadn't raced at all this year so there's that).

I have gotten and am getting more of the brushless stuff so the R and D will continue...I like it!

For the racers that bought into brushless, this video tutorial is useful:

Some fun! Great turnout & the Austin guys really adapted well. The track was pretty much perfect.

It was a fun night of racing. Thanks to Jim and Cliff for running the show and to all of the out-of-town racers!
